![]() Getting Muddy
If you have dry to normal skin, we recommend using a mask that is rich in antioxidants. For this we recommend Appellation Grapeseed Clay Facial Mask. Grapeseed, which is a natural antioxidant, will hydrate and moisturize your skin as it works. If you have oily or problem skin, try Menaji Masque which is excellent for absorbing excess oil and tightening pores. To apply a mud mask, begin by cleansing your face. We recommend applying a mud mask after you shower, when your pores are open. Alternatively, you can open up your pores by placing your face above a bowl of hot, steaming water for five minutes. Place a towel over your head to confine the steam. Use your fore fingers to apply the mud evenly on your face, avoiding the eyes, mouth and nostrils. Cover up as much of the rest of your face and neck as you wish. Relax and allow the mask to dry. Avoid talking or moving your facial muscles as it will lead to cracks and crumbling, which will reduce its effectiveness and mess up your floor too. Most masks will dry completely in about 15 -20 minutes. Once it is dry, rinse off the mask with some warm water. Be sure that you have rinsed every part of it off, and then apply a light moisturizer like Anthony Sport Lightweight Face Lotion, Appellation Grapeseed Moisturizer or Menaji Hydrator Moisturizer. We recommend applying a mud mask once every 1-2 weeks. People with oily skin or problem skin should apply a mud mask every week. People with combination skin should apply a mud mask over the entire face one week and then just on their oily T-zone (forehead, nose & chin) the following week and alternate.
